Jewson - Advertising with Sedgemoor fm

Sedgemoor fm announced today that Jewson, one of the UK’s largest building materials suppliers, has joined the station as the new sponsor of the half-time and full-time scores in our Saturday Afternoon Sports Show.

With local branches in Bridgwater and Highbridge, Jewson are already a strong supporter of regional sports, having become a sponsor of the Western League in the summer of 2024. Their partnership with Sedgemoor fm deepens their commitment to grassroots sports and local community engagement.

Neil Fellowes, Marketing Director for Sedgemoor fm said, “We’re thrilled that Jewson has joined us as the sponsor of the half-time and full-time scores in the Saturday Afternoon Sports Show. They’re already involved in local sports, so their decision to work with us helps strengthens their support of the local sports community and aids our efforts.”

The Saturday Afternoon Sports Show, which launched just over two years ago, has quickly become a favourite with local listeners, growing from covering 12 fixtures in its first season to over 60 in its second. This season the show has already reported on over 40 grassroots matches, and aims to exceed 100 by the end of this season.

The sponsorship agreement with Jewson also includes a new advert for the local Jewson branch at East Quay and highlights the tools and building materials available to customers as well as early opening hours, the availability of food and drink at the store and the option for those in the trade to meet their customers and discuss projects.

Sedgemoor fm’s Managing Director, Dave Englefield said, “Our Saturday Afternoon Sports Show is about more than just reporting scores — it’s about bringing our community together through a shared love of sport and great music. Having Jewson, a company already deeply involved in local football, as the sponsor within the show is a perfect fit. We’re excited to build this relationship and extend our support for grassroots sports.”

Last month Enmore Park Golf Club were announced as the Saturday Afternoon Sports Show’s main sponsor, and with Jewson now supporting the half-time and full-time scores, Sedgemoor fm will deepen it’s work with the sporting communities locally.

The Jewson announcement follows Sedgemoor fm’s recent partnerships with West Country Drainage Services, QSS IT, Jools, Paul Smith Associates and Enmore Park Golf Club.

With these key local businesses joining as sponsors, Sedgemoor fm’s Think Local First initiative continues to thrive, supporting both the station and the local community.
