Chris Hill | Weekend Lunchtime Presenter |Sedgemoor fm
You can catch Chris Hill on Sedgemoor fm on weekend lunchtimes, 12 noon to 2pm, bringing you a mix of great music, dry humour, and local flair that’s made him a familiar voice across Bridgwater and the wider Sedgemoor area.
Chris has been part of the station since 2013, having started with Access FM on 104.2. He’s stayed with us ever since, driven by a simple goal: if a song he plays can make someone’s day a little better, it’s all worth it. His show is filled with musical variety, local flavour, and just the right amount of sarcasm.
One of the highlights of Chris’s show is the Half Past Noon Tune — “From the past to your playlist, the Half Past Noon Tune is a musical moment in time!” It’s a short escape into nostalgia that’s quickly become a listener favourite. You’ll also hear regular updates in Bingo News, and on weekends, Chris challenges listeners with Sedgemoor’s Weekend Riddle: “A cryptic clue, a mystery tune – can you crack it?”
Chris is passionate about keeping things local. To him, Think Sedgemoor means keeping the area and its people front of mind. He especially loves Bridgwater for one simple reason — it’s where his family are. When he’s not behind the mic, you might find him hosting local quizzes (a personal favourite), or enjoying a Scottish breakfast at the On the Go Diner on Eastover.
While Chris has no particular pre-show rituals, he once brought a kazoo into the studio and ended up being featured on BBC Radio 2 with Zoe Ball, playing “Happy Birthday” to Tony Blackburn. That mix of spontaneity and fun is something you’ll hear regularly on his show.
He’s also a fan of fellow presenter Malc Carr’s Old Gold and Cheese show, “Not a modern song in sight!” and says it still feels surreal being on the same station as people he grew up listening to.
And… if you are looking for the best quiz in town, it’s the one Chris is hosting.
Listeners should tune in to Chris Hill’s weekend lunchtime show for a down-to-earth, energetic slice of Bridgwater life. It includes local stories, music, and humour.
