Doing Good For Local Businesses
As a not-for-profit radio station, Sedgemoor fm greatly appreciates the businesses who advertise with us in order to reach their customers and stay front of mind.
To help local businesses Sedgemoor fm run a popular monthly networking event, giving local businesses a chance to meet, network and grow professionally.
Sedgemoor fm also offers a Free Marketing Health Check that helps local businesses see their marketing strengths & weaknesses.
The company also publish local business reports to help it’s advertisers and local business community too.
Helping Local Youth Develop
In 2023 Sedgemoor fm gave eight students over 1000 hours of work placement and work experience.
We gave different students different experiences based on their future goals. Those experiences included marketing, journalism and presenting.
Three work-placement students on an 18-month work-placement also developed their own video gaming show. They gained invaluable skills, knowledge and experience and got to meet local experts and industry experts as a result.
Supporting Local Sport
During the 2022-2023 season Sedgemoor fm launched a Saturday Afternoon Sports Show, covering just Bridgwater United and Bridgwater & Albion’s games. A few months later the station began a partnership with Somerset FA to produce the Sliced & Diced podcast, which supports Grassroots football and sport.
Today, the spots team has grown enabling the station to cover more than 60 sports games and events in the 2023-2024 season.

Sedgemoor fm is known for playing “Somerset’s Hits”.
We believe music creates time capsules that creates a soundtrack and a sanctuary for moments in your life.
Studio Owner and Breakfast Show Host, Dave Englefield sets the tone, when it comes to music, leaning on his 40+ years of broadcasting experience to create the “station’s music vibe”.
At Sedgemoor fm we believe that community is not just a place, but a shared experience. As broadcasters we are local custodians of connection, weaving stories and sharing information between the music.
Our commitment is to be the voice of the local community and encourage people to think locally first.
Promoting Sedgemoor Locally, Nationally & Globally
Sedgemoor fm loves to promote the area, whether that’s locally, nationally, or internationally.
The station also attends 50+ local events each year such as awards events, charity balls and festivals.
Sedgemoor fm also act as a signpost, helping local people find out what’s on locally, so they can enjoy their leisure time, but it also helps locals find products and services that can help them through on-air adverts.
On a national and international level, we work closely with Bridgwater’s main attraction – the Carnival – with Bill Bevan hosting our Carnival Show each Wednesday evening. The show reaches countries around the world, helping to attract visitors to the area each November.
