Mark Painter – On the Sedgemoor fm Weekday Morning Show.
Mark Painter brings decades of broadcasting experience and a passion for local radio to Sedgemoor fm. Having previously been part of the BCRFM in Bridgwater, Mark joined Sedgemoor fm in 2016 to help deliver truly local content that reflects the lives, voices, and issues of people in Bridgwater and the wider Somerset Levels.
Tune in to Mark’s show for a mix of great music, quirky features, and plenty of local flavour. He’s all about fast-paced, engaging radio that feels like a genuine conversation with listeners.
From entertaining quizzes and events to his favourite segment (the Birthday File) Mark creates memorable moments that keep audiences coming back. His ‘Weird Fact of the Day’ adds a fun and educational twist to each show.
One of Mark Painter’s proudest local moments was during Bridgwater Carnival, when international visitors were left speechless (literally) by the magic of the event. It was a moment that reminded him why local pride matters.
Mark Painter’s coffee, biscuits, and Marmite on toast
Behind the mic, Mark’s show is fuelled by coffee, biscuits, and Marmite on toast, and his playlists often sneak in cheesy Carnival classics or Ibiza-style dance anthems (don’t tell Dave Englefield!). He’s also a big fan of fellow Sedgemoor fm presenters like Mike, Chris Hill, and radio legends like Kenny Everett and Tony Blackburn.
Away from the studio, Mark is a self-confessed computer nerd and longtime Dungeons & Dragons player. His favourite Bridgwater walk is a hidden gem: along the river from the NDR to Chilton Trinity and back. He says it’s the perfect route to clear your head or spark creative ideas.
Listeners should tune into Mark Painter’s morning show for a down-to-earth, energetic slice of Bridgwater life. It includes local stories, music, and humour.
